First Impression: Hourglass Hyaluronic Skin Tint
This time last week I was describing my dislike of Benefit's Oxygen foundation, this week I am singing a different tune. The name of the tune is "when foundation samples don't disappoint", and it's featuring the Hourglass Hyaluronic Skin Tint. This is an awesome tinted moisturizer! If you are/were a fan of Chantecaille Just Skin (which I liked but not enough to pay the premium price for) you will love this. It is similar in texture and application, but with a hint more coverage and better lasting power. What I like about it the most is that it manages to give my skin a healthy glow without breaking down (since my skin is oily). Here is a shot of how it looked on my skin after a 9 hour workday, no touchups or primer. I didn't even wear bronzer or blush that day because winter literally and figuratively sucks the life out of me.
It's a great product for everyday. It has no fragrance and it is oil-free. It has significantly more coverage than Laura Mercier's Tinted Moisturizer. Coverage-wise it reminds me of the NARS Tinted Moisturizer but again, this gives a better glow and has a better lasting power on the skin, from my experience.
I sampled this product in the colour Nude but I think Ivory will be a better match for me now that we are in the dead of winter. Nude will suit you perfectly if you are B30 in Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation. Yay! I am even more excited to finish another foundation from my ridiculous collection so that I can purchase a full size of this instead. It retails at Sephora for $55 USD/$64 CAD for 1 oz of product, coverage is a healthy medium and you need about a pea sized amount/pea size and a half if you have extra redness (like I do at the moment).
I will forever be a foundation whore. What are your favourite base products right now?
