Enlightenment ft. Estée Lauder
I received the (relatively new) Enlighten range by Estée Lauder last week and I'm excited to put it to the test! I've had my eye on it ever since Café Makeup blogged about her great results. I've been battling hyperpigmentation for most of my adult life (thanks, old acne marks and sun damage) and this range targets all those issues and promises an even complexion. I'm rrrready to see the light!
From left to right we have: the Dark Spot Correcting Night Serum (super lightweight, absorbs quickly into the skin and has a slight but pleasantly fresh floral fragrance), the Even Skintone Correcting Creme which is not heavy like most potted face creams but it's definitely a cream. It spreads easily as well and is designed to be used on top of the serum overnight.
Last but not least we have the EE Even Effect Skintone Corrector. Think of it as... if MAC Face and Body Foundation had skincare properties. It comes in 3 shades and I got the shade Light. Light has a neutral undertone and would suit those with NC15-NC20-NW15 skins. It smells like sunscreen - lo and behold (has an SPF of 30):
I will be incorporating these 3 products into my everyday skincare routine and will report back in a few weeks for results. I had been using the same basic skincare routine for the last several months and some hyperpigmentation marks just have not budged. I took some "before" photos of my hyperpigmentation so we'll see how "enlightened" it gets!
Note: I will be using my Vitamin C booster mixed in with the Night Serum in order to give it more power. I was mixing it in with my daytime moisturizer which gave positive results, but perhaps this will make things more dramatic.
Have you had issues with hyperpigmentation? What has your experience been with products that target it?
