Too Faced Soleil Matte Bronzer

The crowd-pleasing yummy chocolate-scented matte bronzer from Too Faced now comes in 3 shades! I am a fan of the original Chocolate Soleil bronzer and have used it for the last 2 years - I kept getting the mini travel-sized versions of it for $10 from the Sephora checkout lane and it became a handbag essential. I was thrilled to receive the full sized original along the lighter Milk Chocolate Soleil and the Dark Chocolate Soleil bronzer so I couldn't wait to do this comparison post!

The packaging is cute and sleek, with a mirror. They smell yummy, like chocolate, due to the real cocoa powder they infused with their tan pigments. The claim is that they are able to harness the natural antioxidant powers of raw cocoa into the bronzers. I have experienced no irritation at all using these products and the scent doesn't linger for long.

Milk Chocolate is a perfect everyday subtle bronze/contour shade for light to medium skintones. It's quite neutral in tone so it works well as a contour. Chocolate packs more punch while still not leaning too orange/warm. I like to use it if I want a more dramatic contour and I have a bit of fake tan going on. Dark Chocolate is the warmest of them all, and it's very dark. I have not worn it yet since I'm more on the pale side but this would be a gorgeous bronze for medium/tan skintones (think MAC NC 40 and beyond).

I've been reaching for the Milk Chocolate Soleil bronzer daily. It's a hint more neutral in tone than the Chanel Les Beiges Powder in #40 that I used prior. I like to apply it with either a dense kabuki-style brush (like the Eco Tools or NARS bronzer brush) if I want a more generous all-over bronze or the MAC 187 duo-fibre brush for a subtle effect.

Have you tried these bronzers? What matte bronzers do you reach for the most?
