Dior Nude Air Foundation

I am a big fan of Dior makeup but can't remember the last time I purchased one of their foundations. I was tempted by the Dior Nude Star foundation that came out last year but my fellow oily skinned girls did not rate it very highly so I ended up passing on it. This time, when Dior Nude Air rolled around, I bit the bullet and bought it. Boy, am I glad I did!! Finally something that trumps Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua in my books in terms of "the perfect natural everyday foundation".

I feel bad for my other foundations because I haven't been able to stop wearing this since I got it! It's a lovely foundation that stays put, doesn't look caky, offers medium coverage, feels like skin and I don't need to touch it up during the day.  Dior Nude Air is a serum foundation. This new technology is all the rage in foundations right now (i.e. Giorgio Armani Maestro, YSL Fusion Ink, NARS All Day Luminous, Lancome Nude Miracle) and the main premise is super thin consistency that packs a punch pigment-wise and has a natural skin-like finish. I was disappointed my other serum foundations that I have tried because they accentuate any areas of dry skin that you may have. I have oily skin but I do tend to get patches of dryness, especially after an acne breakout. Dior Nude Air doesn't accentuate dry patches at all. It smoothly glides over the skin and it looks like your skin, only better.

I bought the shade 021 Linen and it's a perfect match for my NC25-NC30 skintone (leaning more yellow, which I prefer). It's similar to Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua in finish, ease of application and coverage but it trumps it because it is more lightweight and has better lasting power on the skin.

It also isn't strongly fragranced. It has SPF25 and it comes with a pipette dispenser. I dislike this whole pipette foundation trend because I am a klutz and ended up dropping foundation on myself more often than I'd like to admit. Nonetheless, my preferred method of application is pipetting the foundation straight onto my face, then blending it out with my fingers. Easy peasy!

In conclusion, two huge thumbs up.  You can buy it from Sephora, Nordstrom, Shoppers Drug Mart/The Bay or any other department store that has a Dior counter and it retails for $53. This foundation surprised me in the best way possible and it's an awesome everyday foundation that looks effortlessly beautiful and natural on the skin. There are many foundations that I still like but the fact that I don't need to lug around a brush or a beauty blender sponge in order to make this look perfect is a huge plus for me. If you like Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua, I think you'll love this.
