Because different oils have different properties and densities they are able to float on top of each other. This makes them look like a cool salad dressing in the bottle.
The Bumble & Bumble Surf Infusion spray is a bi-phase product that you have to shake up really well before you spray it into your hair. One of the layers also contains salt which adds that beachy texture to your hair. I have a post all about the way this looked in my hair throughout the week. I love it. I find the oils really light yet nourishing in this product. They balance out the dryness that you sometimes get from salt-based texturizing sprays.
Next up is Ojon Rare Blend Oil – this looks absolutely beautiful in the bottle and contains 3 oil blends (including coconut oil). You shake it up really well and the mixture turns into a cloudy light blue that you distribute in wet or dry hair. It has a very faint but pleasant tropical/coconut scent.
My hair is thin and fine and I find coconut oil too heavy to use before styling – and this is no exception with this product. It’s too heavy for me to use on damp hair before styling and I find it better suited for those with thick hair & dry ends. However, I have been making this work for me by using it on dry hair as an overnight mask. I wake up, wash my hair in the morning and reap the benefits of the oil without the weighing down. It makes my hair super soft and shiny! I don’t think it’s a must-have for fine/thin hair, but it’s definitely one to keep in mind if your hair is thick and suffers from dryness.
Have you ever used multiple oils in your hair? What’s your usual go-to?
