The Travel Makeup Bag, Unloaded

After back to back weekends away, my travel makeup bag has seen a lot of action. Thankfully this time my picks were concise enough to fit one pouch (with a handful of brushes in their own plastic vessel). For skincare and hair I just loaded up a Ziploc bag with trusty Sephora sample packs that I've been accumulating over the last months. So handy!

Enough with the rambles, let's take a peek into my travel makeup bag:

I lined them up starting with base products - a couple of skincare samples (La Mer Moisturizing Lotion and the Clarins Beauty Flash Balm Primer... both of which I wouldn't buy full sizes of) and my Too Faced Primed & Poreless Primer. The trusty foundation that made the cut is By Terry Cover Expert in shade #7. I love this foundation so much, I have a full review of it here. Basically if you have normal/oily/combination skin with texture problems, this primer and foundation combination have got you covered (without looking like you piled makeup on with a shovel).

For concealer I brought both my shades of NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, Vanilla and Custard. This concealer is great for under-eye concealing or any areas of stubborn redness. For powders I brought Too Faced Cocoa Powder Foundation in Light when I want a matte finish, Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette for a luminous finish, Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil Bronzer (HG status) and Chanel Fleur De Lotus blush. We also have Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder for the under-eye area. This girl loves her powders!

Eyeshadow palette of choice is Cle De Peau Baby Universe, along with Urban Decay Primer Potion because my eyelids are oily and I don't like to retouch my eyeshadow throughout the day. A mini travel size of Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara came on the trips with me (side note - the travel size version is way better than the full size). I also brought By Terry Ombre Blackstar in Brown Perfection for when I want a more dramatic eye. Eyeliners that made the cut are Dior Waterproof Dark Brown eyeliner pencil and L'Oreal Carbon Black liquid liner. Anastasia Brow Wiz in Ebony and Maybelline Brow Drama in Blonde to keep the brows "on fleek" aaaand last but not least LIPS - Giorgio Armani Flash Lacquer in #501 for my neutral everyday lip needs and NARS Satin Lip Pencil in Luxembourg if I seek a "pick-me-up". Mini size Urban Decay setting spray closes out the line-up.
