Too Faced Primed & Poreless Primer
I am not sure where I stand with makeup primers. Sometimes I feel like they make a difference, other times I am completely uninterested and it is a step that I skip. For the last few weeks, though, I have been diligent about using this primer so I can review it for you all. The primer is by Too Faced, and it is their Primed & Poreless Primer. It is silicone-based and rather thick in texture. It is thicker than, say, Hourglass Mineral Veil, but very similar in application. It has that silicone slip feeling to it. I apply this on any areas where I feel I have enlarged pores, fine lines or general texture issues and then I apply my foundation.
And then... nothing really happens to my pores. Nothing bad happens, nothing miraculous happens. In terms of pore appearance, I really have not noticed a difference. Maybe my pores are too large and beyond saving [insert crying emoji]. Fine lines are diminished and the skin feels smoother and foundation goes on smoothly over top... but in terms of making me poreless, I don't see any difference.
I am a little disappointed since the main claims are a poreless complexion, but the more "poreless" products I try (and the more that fail me), the more I am convinced that the whole ideal of being poreless will never be reached. Some people appear poreless by nature and close-up photos in ads are PhotoShopped. Nevertheless, Primed & Poreless does deliver in terms of smoothing out fine lines and was better at it than most other silicone-based primers I have tried. I am just sad that it did not quite live up to the name.
