Shine Bright Like a Diamond

It felt like Christmas morning when the new Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Luminous Blushes landed on my doorstep. To a cheek product fanatic, they are a must-try. Becca has been ahead in the cheek product game for a long, long time. Their Shimmering Skin Perfectors are much adored in the beauty community (TBT to the Champagne Pop craze last summer).

The new Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Luminous Blushes are no different - 6 gorgeous shimmery blush shades that are made to be worn alone or on top of blushes that you want to give a more luminous finish.

Naturally, I am most drawn to the shade Camellia – a rosy pink. You can’t go wrong with a rosy pink blush… it’s a shade that I adore, especially in the warmer months.

Camellia is that perfect shade of pink that lifts the face and imparts a more youthful glow. It’s not as intensely pigmented as some NARS blushes, but that’s a good thing given the high-shine frosted finish. A small, less dense blush brush (or a fan brush) is my tool of choice with this formula. I like the fact that the blush is pigmented enough to be worn alone yet blendable enough to also be worn as a "blush topper" if you want to add a hint of sheen to an existing blush colour of your choice. It's all about mixing and matching. I decided to pack on the colour so that you can see Camellia on my cheeks in all her glory:

The only downside - If you have scarring/texture on your cheeks or if you are worried about large pores being emphasized, this might not be up your street. I have some uneven skin texture on the lower part of my cheeks so it was not emphasized by the light reflecting particles of the blush, but if you have scarring or large pores on your upper cheekbones, this product (and most powder highlighters, for that matter) will emphasize that texture and draw attention to it. Just something to keep in mind.

I got so many compliments on my skin the first day I wore this blush, it was all I needed to keep it at the top of my makeup drawer and I've been applying it daily for the last week.

You can find this beautiful blush, along with the 5 other shades in the Becca Skimmering Skin Perfector Luminous Blush arsenal at Sephora.com, retailing for $34 USD, $41 CAD.
