Crazy About Camel

There have been two recent camel-hued additions to my wardrobe and they have made me feel:
a) cozy
b) sophisticated
c) warm
d) all of the above

First, we're talking this silk & cashmere dress from Equipment. It's a bit of a Frankenstein dress in the sense that it looks like a sweater worn over a silk slip, but the sale price was great and, being by Equipment, the materials are top notch. I adore Equipment for their chic and timeless pieces - their cashmere and silk are incredibly luxurious and the silhouettes are relaxed yet refined. I stalk the brand regularly on The Outnet and pounce when things I like are on sale.

My look can easily be achieved sans Frankenstein dress by layering a camel-coloured sweater and an animal print skirt or slip dress. I have scouted the Internet for some lovely options since my dress is now sold out:

A camel crewneck or turtleneck sweater is a simple, classic piece that's easy to dress up or down and will take you through many Fall and Winter seasons. Here I dressed it up with a grey duster vest that I found at Marshalls last year (more options below) and my go-to Stuart Weitzman Highland boots. Side note if you haven't made a duster vest part of your wardrobe yet, what are you waiting for?

Item number 2 is the Emmet blazer from rag & bone. They make this style throughout the seasons in different colour and fabric combinations, but when I saw it in camel wool, my heart fluttered. A few days ago I spotted it online, on sale at Nordstrom and in the cart it went. It's soft, warm and it gives a cool equestrian vibe to my outfits. My favourite part? The red pop of colour that I get when I pop the collar and twist the lapel. Perfect excuse to pair it with red lipstick.
