Oversized Knits & Abandoned Factories
Michael and I spent a chilly weekend morning at an old Cadillac stamping plant in Detroit. The (desolate) structure stood there, hauntingly beckoning us towards her. Aaaand there was a DRL drone race going on inside. Our friend was coordinating the event and invited us to stop by. It made for the perfect impromptu outfit shoot.
1. I had never been in an old abandoned auto factory before
2. Professional drone racing is a thing? Cool!
3. ESPN was there to capture it all and we had to sign release forms
4. Boy am I glad I wore my cozy Bench sweater 'cause that place was CHILLY!
The deep blue navy knit kept me cozy throughout the race and I love the oversized fit of it. It looks like a boyfriend sweater. Check out the awesome oversized knitwear selection Bench has to offer this season here (and some of it is on sale... score!) I can't seem to find my sweater online but I just got it in store last week. I am wearing a size S.
I wanted to balance out the oversize knit top with something more slim-fitting on the bottom. These are Leigh jeans from Topshop that I cut at the hems to get that trendy raw staggered hem that's so popular right now. I'm not good with DIYs but this one was easy enough for me to handle. On my feet I thought I'd glam it up a bit and wear some high heeled pointed toe booties by Stuart Weitzman. They're comfortable and I love how they are able to make the outfit just a touch cooler than a pair of sneakers would. They have updated this boot style with a chunkier heel this season and I am dying to get my hands on a taupe pair. SEND HELP!
It was such a great morning and the space was hauntingly beautiful. I'm curious to see what will happen to it since it apparently was just bought by someone. BYO breathing mask...
