It is so satisfying to use up a (great) product. Not only do you feel some sort of accomplishment - I sure do - but it also gives you the perfect excuse to go shopping and try something new! I used up the Tom Ford Illuminating Highlight Pen in Dusk Bisque and YSL Rouge Volupte Sheer Candy in Sweet Fig. I like to have a "clicky pen" concealer on hand for mornings when I'm in a rush and don't have time for a more thorough under-eye concealing routine.
The TF pen is pricy but it did last a good 14 months with regular use. The color match is great if you have NC25-30 skin. It has a slight pink undertone which cancels out blue/purple under-eye bags nicely. The formula has more coverage than something like YSL Touche Eclat or the Clinique Light Reflecting Concealer Pen. I didn't care for the latter at all (sorry Lisa Eldrige).
YSL Sweet Fig was my go-to everyday lip colour last fall and the fall before that. I sang its praises on the blog before so check that out if you want swatches. It's an easy way to add color and life to the lips with minimal commitment.
The new kids in town are both by Charlotte Tilbury - the Matte Revolution lipstick formula is a great lightweight buildable matte lip color that isn't as drying on the lips as most matte formulas out there on the market. I bought the colour Bond Girl which is a nice mauve-rose-brown hybrid that's perfect for fall. The Retoucher concealer pen is a great multi-tasking product that is suitable both for covering under-eye darkness and discoloration as well as blemishes or old scars. I bought it in the shade #3 which is a neutral-warm medium shade. It isn't as creamy or full coverage as the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer but it has that easy glide-on silicone texture that smooths over uneven skin patches and conceals without looking heavy or caked on. I'm diggin' it so far. If you want to see what other goodies I have picked up recently, check out my latest haul video below:
