Last fall I discovered the magic of Cle De Peau eyeshadows with their limited edition shade offerings. This fall was no different. The brand released 8 eyeshadow quads containing those gorgeous subtle and soft-textured eyeshadows that I grew to love. I was in Chicago last month and as I was perusing the aisles of a Neiman Marcus beauty section, I stumbled upon the Cle De Peau displays and the Fall 2014 Eye Color Quad in #303 "Baby Universe" ($55) had to be mine.
It contains the perfect balance of satin, matte and shimmer. The texture is soft, easy to blend and the pigmentation is great. They're so easy to work with they make application a dream. You get a light neutral brown, a shimmery champagne shade, a satin/matte mauve and a shimery rose bronze.
The colors look great layered all together for daytime or night time, depending on your combination. I posted the following tutorial focusing on the light shimmery shade for daytime:
A more dramatic option focusing on the darker rosy bronze shade:
Orrrrr we have the my personal favorite "Captain Lazy" look which just features a wash of the two satin/matte shades together paired with a thick winged liner.
It's been hard not to reach for this every single day and night. I'm so happy I bought it. The only downside is that aside from the steep price point (but worth it in terms of quality) you have to buy the case separate. I only purchased the refill and the clear plastic protector it comes with has been okay but will have to cave and get the compact at some point. The compact retails for $25.
What has been your go-to eyeshadow palette this season?
