I have pretty much entered my hibernation season. This means that Sundays are usually spent indoors wearing embarrassing PJ pants (AKA leggings with holes in them), catching up on blogs, YT and some reading. All these activities are performed, of course, sans makeup. It feels good to give the ol' face a break from makeup and it's the perfect time for a face mask.
For the last couple of weeks, the following products have been on heavy rotation for Sundays:
- The Pore Purifying Clay Mask by Una Brennan Super Facialist is really good. It's a clay mask that isn't too drying and it is loaded with salicylic acid which helps bring down those pesky blemishes and blackheads. I got this from the lovely Anna @ ViviannaDoesMakeup and it's quickly becoming one of my favourite clay masks. It smells good and it doesn't get as dry and crispy as other clay masks I have tried. It stays rather creamy. It's sadly only available from Boots in the UK as far as I know, but the search is officially on for something comparable in North America!
- After washing off the mask with water and whatever cleanser I have on hand I use one of the First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads - full review of them here.
- Paula's Choice Resist C15 Booster is a serum containing 15% Vitamin C and Ferulic Acid. It imitates the famous SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic serum but costs a fraction of the price. I apply 3 drops of the serum on my palms and press it into my skin. Sometimes I follow up with a moisturizer, sometimes I don't, depending on the state of my skin. The end. Horray, happy skin! Vitamin C is an awesome ingredient to add to your skincare regimen and I have noticed a considerable difference in my skin texture and the rate my post-acne marks are fading since I have incorporated a regular source of Vitamin C in my routine.
