Tom Ford's cream eyeshadows are amongst the best I have ever used. Frustratingly enough, like many other awesome makeup products, they're limited edition *insert all the sad emojis here*. However there is one ray of hope... two shades are being re-released and are now available again: Platinum and Spice. This post is about the latter. I am wearing it alone all over the lid today and I bask in its beauty:
I originally got it as part of the Summer 2012 collection but you can buy it online again here. It retails for $40 and is worth every penny.
The texture is a lot softer and more malleable than other potted cream shadows (like MAC Paint Pots, Estee Lauder, Benefit, etc.) and the formula is wetter than the Chanel Illusion D'Ombre eyeshadows. This "wetness" makes this so easy to work with. I apply it with my finger all over the lid and then use a fluffy brush to blend it out, with the end result looking something like this:
Lazy girl eyeshadow at its finest, people! This particular shade is a warm right brown with tiny bits of gold scattered throughout. The lasting power is amongst the best I have ever tried and I have oily eyelids. I prefer wearing an eyeshadow primer underneath all my shadows every day, but I have worn this without a primer and got a solid 6 hours of wear.
Do yourself a favour and pick this baby up if it's in your path... we may never know the next time Mr. Ford decides to bring out the cream shadows!
Do you like cream shadows as much as I do?
