You know the days that get so cold that your eyes instantly sting and water when you step outside (hence me ditching mascara for the most part during the weekdays), the days when it’s dark outside when you wake up to go to work and the sun is depressingly low in the sky on your commute back home? I hate those days. I’m currently experiencing those days. I have a small set of products that alleviate the pain of those days:
Kiehl’s Superbly Restorative Argan Dry Oil is seriously awesome. It’s a fast absorbing body oil that I like best applied freshly out of the shower. It doesn’t smell like anything and it’s incredibly effective. A small amount goes a reasonably long way which eases the pain of its $43 price tag. You can get this online on the Kiehls website or at various department stores that carry the brand (Holt Renfrew if you're in Canada, Nordstrom, Saks, Bloomingdale's, etc. in the USA)
If you’re in need to follow up with an extra coat of moisture, the Nivea Firming Body Lotion has been a household staple for years. I’ve used both high and low end body lotions in the past and the Nivea is what I would recommend the most. Silky, hydrating, doesn’t knock you out with its fragrance, and goes on sale often. Win!
Finally, I’d like to talk about baths. For years I have underestimated the power of a good bath. While I’m a shower girl at heart, taking baths on the weekend has been a very welcome addition to my routine. I’ve tried enough bath products in these last few months that it warrants a whole ‘nother post!
What are you winter body care staples?
