Can I get three cheers for alliteration? Anyone? Anyone?
It's winter, I'm miserable and half covered in snow. I sometimes wonder why on Earth my parents chose Canada as the place to emigrate to. I don't even live in the real Canadian North and I'm still complaining. It's just that 4-5 months of snow a year can really take its toll on one's skin, and the lips are the major victim.
Here are the products keeping my chapped lips under control at the moment:
Before bed when all the makeup is removed, I like to exfoliate my lips as well using the same washcloth I use to cleanse my face (or the Clarisonic, if I happen to be using it that day - yes, I run the Clarisonic over my lips as well). If you don't use a Clarisonic or a washcloth when you wash your face, try using your toothbrush to exfoliate your lips when you brush your teeth! The key point is to get those flaky bits of skin off. Next step? MOISTURE!
I like to use By Terry Baume De Rose at night. It's incredibly luxurious and hydrating. The Nivea lip butters are a great alternative if you don't want to splash out on the By Terry. I then coat my lips with either Aquaphor or Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream in order to lock in the moisture overnight. I wake up with lips that are in a much better state!
