I tried to make the title of this post “the makeup primer that feels more like skincare than a primer” but alas, that title is way too long. However, if I did have only one sentence to sum up the Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Primer, that would be it. I have been testing it out for the last couple of months since receiving it to review, and I think it’s a great product.
It’s an incredibly lightweight and hydrating primer. It is silicone free so it will not leave that familiar slip and slick feeling on the skin. It has a pleasant coconut scent and it contains coconut water in order to amp up its hydration capabilities. The packaging is cute and a great fit for travel. I love the fact that it comes with a pump without being in a clunky glass bottle.
I have enjoyed using it the most in the morning on summer weekends instead of moisturizer. If you have normal, combination, oily skin with the occasional moments of dehydration, I think you will really like this. It quenches the skin just enough to ensure smooth and easy makeup application, without leaving you feeling greasy or silicone-y.
I can't tell if it made my makeup last longer - but it doesn't claim to do that. What it does best is prepping the skin perfectly for makeup application. I give this product major points for being able to hydrate the skin and sink in incredibly quickly. To me it’s the perfect pre-makeup skincare treat and I like it more than the Primed and Poreless Primer (you can check out that review here). Another win for Too Faced!
