Brush laundry: we all hate doing it but it has to be done. Until they invent mini dishwasher-like devices meant to clean your beauty tools, brush washing is a task that we must tackle by hand. Forget the strange textured glove inventions, I do it all by hand.
Got your dirty beauty tools? 3 more things are needed: hands, running water and a kickass piece of soap. I have tried numerous brush cleansing products and have found a solid soap to be the most efficient. I was devoted to the BeautyBlender Solid cleanser for a couple of years and have dabbled in using mini soaps from hotels a la NikkieTutorials. However, nothing has made my brushes cleaner and nicer than the Benjabelle Cleansing Balm.
It’s organic, all natural, and it works! It cleanses and conditions brushes and BeautyBlender sponges perfectly. Both my natural and synthetic bristle brushes are left clean and soft. I buy it for $14.95 directly from their website (I usually buy 2 at a time so that I get free shipping) and I am good to go. One tin of balm lasts me a good 3 months and my brushes have never looked better. You can also find it on Amazon for $13.50.
I love to support this business as it is family owned – Jan and her husband Ben have been trying to make our brush washing easier since 2012, they also sell The Brush Tree which is a great contraption that stores your brushes upside-down for optimal drying. You can also find their Brush Trees on Beauylish.
