Korean skincare products are just more fun than the conventional skincare I am used to. I’ve been having a blast trying out the different formulas and textures. The texture of the day? Foam. Before you shudder and close your browser window, hear me out – this isn’t the scary drying Sodium-Laureth-Sulfate foam that strips your skin of all moisture. This foam is soft and fluffy, like a whipped cream. We’re talking LANEIGE Brightening Sparkling Water Foam Cleanser.
The premise behind the LANEIGE Brightening Sparkling Water products is simple – by infusing the products with sparkling water it improves skin’s circulation and promotes an overall more luminous complexion. The Sparkling Water Foam Cleanser is also loaded with fruit enzymes and acids for a gentle chemical exfoliation as well. Although it doesn’t sit on the skin enough to reach full acid exfoliation potential, it does leave my skin feeling incredibly soft and smooth and not tight once I rinse it off. The scent it very light and refreshing, as well.
I would recommend this if you’re looking for a light and refreshing summer cleanser. I personally gravitate towards formulas like this to cleanse my face in the shower - when I get home after a gross hot summer day and I have to quickly shower, get ready again and head out for a social event, this cleanser does the trick. If you like any of the Shiseido cleansing foams, the Vichy ProEven Brightening Cleanser or the La Roche Posay Toleriane Foaming Cream, the LANEIGE Brightening Sparkling Water Foam Cleanser will replace either of those nicely in your routine.
Not for you – if you’re sensitive, prone to redness and/or have dry skin, I would steer you away from this and towards a cleansing milk (ex. Darphin), cleansing balm (ex. Emma Hardie) or good ol’ CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser.
What’s your stance on foaming cleansers? Love ‘em? Hate ‘em? Or do you like to keep ‘em on hand for particular situations like I do?
