Great & Gentle Acid Exfoliants To Try This Season

The start of autumn is a great time to kick-start your skincare routine. The weather is cooling down and the days are getting shorter and shorter. It's time to start sloughing off the sun damage and reveal brighter, younger looking skin.

LANEIGE Brightening Sparkling Water Foam

Korean skincare products are just more fun than the conventional skincare I am used to. I’ve been having a blast trying out the different formulas and textures. The texture of the day? Foam. Before you shudder and close your browser window, hear me out – this isn’t the scary drying Sodium-Laureth-Sulfate foam that strips your skin of all moisture. This foam is soft and fluffy, like a whipped cream.

A Retinol Serum for Beginners

I have dabbled in my fair share of retinol concoctions - moisturizers, serums, oils... oh my! While the jury is still out on the oil (Sunday Riley Luna is currently being tested) I wanted to share a simple, easy to use and easy to find lotion with retinol that I have been using at night for the last few months. It's the Vichy LiftActiv Retinol HA Concentrate and it's lovely.
FYI: Retinol & Retinaldehydes are the more gentle "over-the-counter" derivatives of trentinoin. Trentinoin is found in prescription products like Retin-A and is a lot more aggressive.

The (Good) Stinky Stuff

One of the first things I do when trying out a new beauty product is smelling it. I can't help it. The Boyfriend calls me a truffle pig because I'm always smelling stuff in stores. Is that weird? Am I alone here? Are there any other truffle pigs out there?

*cricket noise*

Alas, today's post is about two skincare products in my current regimen that smell absolutely disgusting but they work so well that I am able to get over that fact.

Review: Neutrogena Deep Clean Cleanser/Mask

This product has been around on the market for a while and had always been on the back of my mind to try but for some reason it's not available at any drug store near me. On a trip to the US I popped into Ulta and here it was on the Neutrogena shelves, smiling at me.
