The Sheet Mask That Packs A Punch #SkincareSunday
I've always been intrigued in the beauty regimes of women in other parts of the world. I especially respect the dedication and complex skincare routines of Korean women. I've dabbled in Korean skincare here and there and my favorite thing has been sheet masks so when I got the chance to choose some Sulwhassoo products to try out, I had my eye on their sheet mask offering - the Sulwhasoo Snowise EX Brightening Mask.
A Retinol Serum for Beginners
I have dabbled in my fair share of retinol concoctions - moisturizers, serums, oils... oh my! While the jury is still out on the oil (Sunday Riley Luna is currently being tested) I wanted to share a simple, easy to use and easy to find lotion with retinol that I have been using at night for the last few months. It's the Vichy LiftActiv Retinol HA Concentrate and it's lovely.
FYI: Retinol & Retinaldehydes are the more gentle "over-the-counter" derivatives of trentinoin. Trentinoin is found in prescription products like Retin-A and is a lot more aggressive.
The (Good) Stinky Stuff
One of the first things I do when trying out a new beauty product is smelling it. I can't help it. The Boyfriend calls me a truffle pig because I'm always smelling stuff in stores. Is that weird? Am I alone here? Are there any other truffle pigs out there?
Alas, today's post is about two skincare products in my current regimen that smell absolutely disgusting but they work so well that I am able to get over that fact.
Enlightenment ft. Estée Lauder
I received the (relatively new) Enlighten range by Estée Lauder last week and I'm excited to put it to the test! I've had my eye on it ever since Café Makeup blogged about her great results. I've been battling hyperpigmentation for most of my adult life (thanks, old acne marks and sun damage) and this range targets all those issues and promises an even complexion. I'm rrrready to see the light!
