Awesome and Affordable Micellar Waters

Guys, I'm sad to say this but after many years of love and commitment I have broken up with Bioderma Sensibio micellar water. The times have changed, Bioderma. You are no longer running the show. The drugstore and Sephora shelves are lined to the brim with comparable options at cheaper price points that I have been more than happy to explore.

L'oréal Sublime Radiance Sensational Cleansing Oil

The cleanser I am talking about this week was "love at first pump". If the Origins cleanser I reviewed a couple of weeks ago was too thick or if you're not a fan of herbal scents - this oil might be just what the doctor ordered and it's the L'Oréal Sensational Cleansing Oil from their Sublime line which is geared towards dull skin. Who doesn't want brighter skin?

Origins Clean Energy Gentle Cleansing Oil

Balms, micellar waters, creams, lotions, milks – oh my! There are so many options when it comes to makeup removal, and cleansing oils are amongst my favourite. For many years I was scared by the concept of using an oil on my already very oily (and acne-prone) skin. But fear not, because cleansing oils have come a long way and most are made with great non-comedogenic ingredients suitable for even the most sensitive of skins. I have been using and enjoying the Origins Clean Energy Gentle Cleansing Oil for the last month and it ticks all right right boxes.

Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm

Cleansin' Wednesday is a weekly instalment of this blog in which I review a different cleanser (until I run out... and start hoarding cleansers again!) The Clinique "Take The Day Off" Cleansing Balm is my first foray into cleansing balms. I purchased it late last year and have been using it regularly for makeup removal at night. It’s a rather stiff lard-like mass in a plastic purple pot. It reminds me of coconut oil, texture-wise. The writing on the packaging rubbed off pretty quickly within the first month of use so it’s not very aesthetically pleasing but the product itself is an excellent makeup remover. Dare I say I prefer it to Bioderma? I just feel like I get a more thorough cleanse when I use this balm.
